Meow Meow Tweet Deodorant Review

Review for Meow Meow Tweet's Baking Soda Free Deodorant Cream. A great all natural deodorant with organic ingredients

Meow Meow Tweet…

Lock up your dogs because a new breed is in town…a phenomenal artisanal company with the wondrous name Meow Meow Tweet.

Meow Meow Tweet is a New York based natural & vegan apothecary that has many stellar products in their line up. Some include their heavenly smelling soy candles, to die for organic soaps, and extensive personal care line. Their products use all organic or wildcrafted oils, butters, and essential oils. They have beautiful packaging which is entirely in glass so there's no need to worry about plastic residue leaching into our products or the environmental impact. Meow Meow Tweet has gained a stellar reputation with features in The New York Times, Refinery 29, and The Chalkboard yet they are still a two man show. The owners, and workhorses, are Tara and Jeff who hand make each product in small batches. This eco-conscious clean beauty loving artisanal company is something I love to support, especially when they have such suburb products.

Today I am going to share with you one of their new products, Baking Soda Free Deodorant Cream. As you may remember I am in love with Soapwalla's Deodorant Cream, however, it can be irritating to the delicate underarm skin. So, if you are one who has sensitive pits keep reading...because Meow Meow Tweet has created the perfect product for you!

Their deodorant cream is ever so gentle and quite moisturizing, too. It doesn't irritate my skin, even when applied immediately after shaving. One of the best features is how soft and silky my pits feel after using it. I have never thought of applying moisturizer to my underarms per se, but man since I have used the  Baking Soda Free Deodorant Cream what a special treat. After a few days of use my skin was less irritated after shaving, with absolutely no redness or razor burn. I attribute this to the fabulous list of ingredients they use.

  • organic arrowroot powder
  • organic shea butter
  • magnesium hydroxide
  • organic virgin coconut oil
  • organic jojoba oil
  • organic: grapefruit, bergamot, lemon and sweet orange essential oils

The Low Down

When opening the glass jar my nose is immediately met with a light grapefruit/citrus scent. It is ivory white and quite creamy. It’s thinner than Soapwalla's and has the consistency of moderately thick honey...I know a bit subjective but my brain is failing me at the moment. I did find that in order to keep body odor away for the entire day a large finger scoop was needed. The first two days I didn't use enough and needed to reapply in the afternoon. However, once I got the correct amount I was stink free until I went to bed. The only quality I wish it didn't have is leaving white residue on my clothes, I think because of the arrowroot powder. Those of you who are used to conventional deodorant already battle the white streaks on dark clothes war but I wasn't quite prepared for it. However, the easy adaptation of applying after you put your shirt on takes care of this minor snafu.

Overall I recommend this clean deodorant wholeheartedly. It is free of any nasty chemicals that give us breast cancer, thyroid dysfunction, and skin irritation like the conventional store bought deodorants. It smells wonderful, is super soothing to the skin, and prevents BO. Anyway you look at it it's a win. You can get your own here, and make sure to check out their other products as well. You will not be disappointed with Meow Meow Tweet.
